Cheap Brand Coord Challenge

Image
Good day friends, affiliates, and otherwise! Today I come to you all with a post inspired by Cupcake Kamisama's post  where she makes three sweet lolita brand coords as cheaply as possible using Wunderwelt  and  Closet Child 's currently available items. I asked her if I could borrow the idea, and she said I could, so no one can say I'm copying or stealing! The rules are simple: Everything must be brand, a well known Japanese brand, to be more specific. I must do the coord head to toe, excluding jewelry/accessories other than a head bow, and no petticoat since Closet Child doesn't have those Everything must be available for purchase as of the day I'm posting (on Closet Child) I have to do this as cheaply as possible (and the prices are in yen) Sweet Lolita Coord Sweet Lolita Coordinate Item Price Link BTSSB JSK 5940 here META blouse 3800 here BTSSB bow 1346 here AP OTKs 1980 here META shoes 4950 here Total 18016   So the cheapest swe

Hello friends, affiliates, and otherwise. Today's post is going to be a tad bit more serious. I want to talk about the newcomers to the fashion, coming from a newcomer's perspective. In the past two weeks, I have made mistake after mistake, whether I was being a little too immature or annoying on discord, or I posted a question on Rufflechat and wasn't prepared for the comments, or I let my limited knowledge of the fashion disguise itself as more info than it was. I have let myself get cocky and I shouldn't have. If you are in the same boat as me, where you are both young in age and experience, then I hope to be able to help you as well as myself by writing this. My number one piece of advice is don't post or write anything you aren't able to handle harsh comments on. Just because Closet of Frills says constructive  criticism doesn't mean everyone on there knows how to be constructive. You will maybe write a comment and get beat down on  because you w

Angelic Pretty's 50s Obsession

Image
Angelic Pretty, We need to talk. Alright, I'm sure this needs minimal introduction. Angelic Pretty has recently had a thing for that 50s diner aesthetic- and it came out of nowhere. What build up from past prints did we have that  foretold the Baltimore we're in now? I mean, someone's been sniffing too much Ultra Clutch hairspray, surely. Angelic Pretty, with no warning, released their Milkshake collection, and their Neon Diner is on its way. Here we see the Milkshake OP in pink. Cute, sure. Not lolita. Even as a newcomer to this fashion, the number one thing that defines lolita is the silhouette. Thats the reason petticoats have become so important. And thats the one thing this OP doesn't have. I'm not mad, don't get me wrong, its just. Disappointing? Coming into this fashion, you hear all about how great AP is and whatnot, and this defies everything I've been told. This is the Neon Diner JSK in blue. This is much better, with an actual

Dream Dresses

Image
Hello Again! Yeah, its me. Again. I hope nobody minds how often I'm currently blogging; my  subconscious is probably trying to make up for future time not posting. Anywho, the current topic is dream dresses. You know 'em. You love 'em. And you'd sell your kidneys to have 'em. I'm going to be talking (writing?) about my current Dream Dress tier wants and gushing about them. Dream Dress #1 War of Thrones JSK II (Magic Tea Party) God this dress is gorgeous! I mean, just look at it! There are rabbits! IN BATTLE ARMOR!! Like, how can you not love that? It's slight Alice in Wonderland aesthetic makes this dress all the better, and without being cosplay-y. This color way is my favorite of the three, the red coming in second. I think the sax color way doesn't fit with the gothic/classic print, but damn does this dress just look good. I'm very happy because its also going to be my first dress! Mom bought it for me, and its hopefully on its

Lolita Questionnaire part 3

Good Afternoon! Good afternoon friends, affiliates, and otherwise! I felt like blogging today, and I figured I'd start today's blogging with part three of the questionnaire  by Tell The Tea on tumblr. Let's get straight into it! 21. What is your personal feelings about yourself in Lolita? In one word/phrase, how would you express your style/image? As someone who is very new to the fashion, I think I'll probably feel weird about it at first. Especially as a trans guy, subscribing to femenine ideas isn't usually a part of the agenda, and I don't doubt some people of the trans community will look down on me.  My image? probably "Kawaii but make it classy" but not in a classic way, if you get my drift. 22. Did you ever think about quitting Lolita? If so, what was the reason? I'm incredibly stubborn, so leaving I doubt. However, my interests ebb and flow throughout the year. One month, my thing might be pokemon, the next lolita fashion. My

Lolita Questionnaire part 2

I'm Back! Is posting twice a day my thing now? Who knows. I'd love to be in this mode all the time, I know that much. But I was just reading some lolita blogs, browsing the  inter webs, totally not fanboying over Cupcake Kamisama's comment, when I was just hit with the urge to blog! I wish I could be like this about my schoolwork. Anywho, I'm doing part 2 of Tell The Tea's questionnaire ! 1 1. Do you store your Lolita clothes in a special place? I don't have any lolita clothes yet, unless you count my extensive collection of knee-high socks a part of that, but I don't think I will. My socks are stored in a sock drawer with all my boring socks. 12. How would you describe your music taste? I'm really into punk/pop-punk. Doesn't really match an almost sweet lolita, but whatever. 13. Do you tend to wear Lolita for special occasions or casually? I'm still in school, as well as usually doing a play of some sorts, which tends to come

Lolita Questionnaire part 1

Intrigued? Good morning friends, affiliates, and otherwise! I was thinking of an idea for a post, but was at a loss until I scrolled through F Yeah Lolita. They had a link to a tumblr post  by Tell The Tea. This post had 100 questions in ten parts, so I thought I'd at least tackle the first part. 1. First things first: Your Screen-name and/or Lolita Alias and it’s meaning? My screen name is Deckofrabbits, and my alias is Rabbit. These come from Alice's adventures in wonderland, wherein the deck of cards is all in a suit of rabbits, and theres quite a few  lapine characters in the story. 2. What made you fall in love with Lolita? You know, I'm not sure. It might be the abundance of cute animal prints, the pastel colors, or anything. I just really like the general aesthetic. 3. Which Lolita motif do you subscribe to? (Gothic, Classic, Sweet, etc.) Probably sweet, for the reasons detailed above. 4. How do you feel about Lolitas with piercings/tattoos?

Spreadsheet of Needs

Image
Good Evening Good evening friends, affiliates, and otherwise. I hope your Easter/Passover was good. I've been a tad bit productive today, thus the point of this late post. I made a spreadsheet detailing basic lolita clothing needs, providing at least three items of each including a link to the item and its price. Here you can see I divided my needs into categories: Petticoats; Bloomers; Blouses; Skirts; OPs; and JSKs. I labeled all my links with what the item was, and underneath the price for each link. I think this will be helpful for my building of my collection. Well, thats all I wanted to share.

Easter Special

Image
Happy Easter! Happy Easter friends, affiliates, and otherwise!  In regards to this holiday, I'll be showing off some of my favorite Easter prints by Indie/Taobao designers. Starting off, we have Rabbit Candy (JSK) by Spottedmist  I don't have a very good picture of this print as my only resource is devilinspired.com, however the cute jelly rabbits combined with the sax background really make this print feel easter-y. Next is the Rabbits and Candy Jar (OP) by Summer Fairy No matter which  colorway you choose to go with, the Easter spirit is sure to be there. The pastel colors already instilled that spring vibe, but when you add on candy (an Easter staple) and rabbits, you can't help but feel the need for an egg hunt. Candy Rabbit (JSK) from Diamond Honey is next on the list. With, you guessed it, rabbits and candy (I'm a rabbit person, you all

Hello! I'm Rabbit Hello there friends, affiliates, and otherwise! Call me Rabbit. I am starting this blog as a way of documenting my adventure through the wonderland that is the lolita fashion. I wouldn't expect any consistent updates or anything, but do keep an eye out for posts every now and then.
